The General Steps of Welding Process
📆 2021-02-22

In the previous article we have discussed Safety Tools in Process Welding & Understand what is meant by the welding process. This time we will discuss the General Basic Knowledge of the welding process. As we know, welding is a technique in splicing metal by melting some filler metal without or with pressure and without or with an additional metal which produces a gradual joint.
The scope of application of welding techniques in construction is very broad, including shipping, bridges, steel frames, pressure vessels, pipelines, speed pipes, and others.

It can be explained that welding is a connection of several metals using heat energy. The step of pressing two metals that are joined together so that these two metals can glue together has been used for more than 40 types of welding.
TWelding techniques are sought after by some people who want to learn to weld. Some of these techniques can be found in vocational or technical schools. However, generally not everyone can get an education legally. Therefore, we will provide a few steps for a good and correct welding guide :
Clean the material to be welded. Use a hammer to descale the surface of the room to be welded. Use a steel brush for optimal results
Place the material to be welded in the place that has been prepared. Whether it's wearing a work table or just placing it on the floor. Adjusts the density between two materials. Wear clamps if necessary.
Place the mass of the welding machine on one side of the material to be welded. Add electrodes to the electrode clamp panel on the welding machine. Install the electrode slope according to the order of the material. Generally, there is a special place for the electrode tilt on the electrode clamp pliers.
After the material is ready to be welded, slowly bring the electrode tip to the material to be welded.
The distance between the electrode tip and the material to be welded greatly affects the quality of the welding. When the distance is so far, there will appear like a rain of fire specks. The welding process is not good either. When the distance is so close, the fire doesn't burn completely. And there is not enough distance for the electrode melt. A good distance is one-eighth of the thickness of the electrode.
By wearing a protective mask or welding goggles, you can pay attention to the side of the electrode that has melted that joins the two materials being welded. Slowly move the electrode along the space being welded.
Good results during the welding process can be seen when the surface being welded is in the form of a tight and regular wave that completely covers the welded side.
When finished, clean the crust that covers the welded side using a hammer. Double check for any rudimentary sides. If not perfect, repeat the sides that are not put together well. In some cases, the material that has been welded has to be grinded if the welding is incomplete. But if it's not fatal, we just need to weld the side that is not perfectly welded.
Those are the steps for a good welding or connection, and you can find out how professional work in the field of welding and connection only PT. Duta Laserindo Metal
